Quick answers for when something looks wrong, or you are not sure how something works. New here? The Tutorial walks you through setup first.
Four things, all in the dashboard:
The Tutorial shows each step with screenshots.
Use a sim (demo) account at your broker and tick only that account in your strategy. You can also press Run Webhook Test. It sends a test signal that is processed exactly like a real one but places no order. The Signals / Actions tab then shows a line marked TEST (no order), so you know the alert reached us and matched your strategy.
No. We pass your order, with its stop and targets, to your broker quickly and correctly. After that, your broker manages the position. We do not add, move, resize or close anything on our own.
Open the Signals / Actions tab. The Last Action line tells you what we did with the alert. If the alert is not listed at all, it never reached us, so check the alert in TradingView (webhook URL ticked and pasted, message filled in). If it is listed, go through this list:
It is the name of your strategy on the Strategies tab. Your TradingView alert message must contain it in the "id" field. It has to match character for character, including capital letters. Spaces at the very start or end are ignored, nothing else is. The strategy editor shows ready-made Long and Short messages with the ID already filled in, so copy and paste those instead of typing the ID.
If the ID does not match, the alert is dropped and the Signals tab says there is no strategy with that ID.
The alert in TradingView still has the old ID. Copy the new message from the strategy editor into your TradingView alert and save the alert.
No. The symbol in the alert is just a label. TradeXecutor always trades the Contract ID you picked on the strategy card, because choosing that contract yourself is how you tell us exactly what you want to trade.
Yes. Tick every account the strategy should trade. Each ticked account gets its own order with the strategy's size and brackets, and one account failing never stops the others. Select all and Clear next to each login tick or untick all of its accounts at once.
The strategy has no Contract ID, so we do not know what to trade. Open the strategy, use Symbol Search to find your contract, click a result to fill in the Contract ID, and save.
Futures contracts expire every quarter. TradeXecutor does not roll them for you. Before expiry, open the strategy, search for the new contract in Symbol Search, pick it, and save. If you forget, orders on the old contract will be refused by your broker.
On the strategy card, under Order Type, for every mode. With Limit the entry is placed at the price in your alert (plus any Long or Short offset you set). With Market the entry is a market order and the alert's price is ignored for the entry.
Your broker received the order and refused it. The words after the colon are the broker's own reason, for example a missing stop price or a maximum order size that is not set. TradeXecutor did nothing wrong and cannot override your broker's rules. Check the reason, then check the account's risk settings and rules with your broker or prop firm.
Your broker login is no longer valid. Open the Broker Connection tab and connect again. This can happen if you changed your broker password or revoked access.
Your setup is bigger than your plan allows, for example after a downgrade. While you are over, all alerts are paused. A red banner on the dashboard lists exactly what to fix: delete extra strategies or untick accounts. Signals resume as soon as you are back within your plan. Nothing is deleted or changed for you.
Blocked by Kill Switch means the Kill Switch is on, so every alert is refused. Disarmed means that one strategy is switched off. Turn the Kill Switch off, or arm the strategy, and new alerts will go through. Alerts that were refused are not replayed.
An account you ticked no longer exists or is closed at your broker. Press Refresh accounts on the connection, then tick the correct account again.
Your broker told us to slow down. We wait the time the broker asks and try again. If it keeps happening, your strategy is sending orders faster than the broker allows on that login.
The order was accepted, but part of its protection may not have been set up as expected, for example a bracket. Open your broker's platform and check the stop and targets on that position.
Tradovate logins are short-lived, around 90 minutes. TradeXecutor renews them in the background about every 20 minutes, so you normally stay connected without doing anything. If a renewal ever fails, for example because you changed your password or revoked access at the broker, reconnect from the Broker Connection tab.
No. Connect each login once. Every account under it is listed on the connection card. You then choose the accounts inside each strategy.
Press Refresh accounts on the connection card to reload the list from your broker.
Accounts are counted once even if several strategies use the same account. See the Plans page for current prices.
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, your alerts stop being processed. Your strategies stay saved.
Open the Account Settings tab and press Manage Subscription.
Full Auto lets your TradingView strategy decide the stop, targets and trailing for every trade and send them in the alert. It is in beta and only available to invited accounts for now.
No, but you should be comfortable with trading and with using an AI assistant. The strategy card gives you a ready-made brief with your Strategy ID already inside it. You paste it into your AI assistant, which writes the TradingView script. Getting it working takes testing and some trial and error, so start on a sim account with Test mode on.
No. Every alert is placed as its own order. Your script decides how many orders to send and when to stop. TradeXecutor does not count your position or cap its size.
It instantly blocks every alert from being sent to your broker. It does not close positions or cancel orders that are already open. Manage those in your broker's platform.
For your security you are signed out after 15 minutes of inactivity. Your strategies and broker connections keep running, because alerts do not need you to be signed in.
No. TradeXecutor passes the orders your own strategy sends to your own broker. Trading futures involves risk of loss, so test on a sim account first and never trade money you cannot afford to lose.
